Religion is a centering phenomenon, i.e. it seeks to establish its worldview at the center of societies. By understanding how religions do this in multiple contexts, students acquire the following skills:
1. Historical frame of reference -dynamism of human constructions over time
2. Sociological frame of reference
3. Psychological frame of reference
4. Humanistic frame of reference - anti-scientistic and anti- reductionist
5. Understanding of cultural values and value formations
6. Area studies and language expertise (cultural studies)
